My name is Alex Walter. Since 2014 I’ve been rock climbing, traveling, living simply, and seeking the sublime in everyday life. These are my stories and thoughts. Most photos have been taken via disposable camera.
- Three months ago I was living out of a tent in El Salto, Nuevo León. A little stressed about my finances and a little stressed about just what the fuck I was doing with my life. Every day I would wake up, make myself a cup of instant coffee, pack my bags, and head into the canyon to rock climb. On my rest days I would just lay around the campsite and read revolutionary literature. After a couple weeks the monotony of life in the mountains started to drain my psyche. I knew everytime I became bored that I would look back on these days later in the year when I was busy and working hard and away from world class limestone and miss them. So I enjoyed them. Because it's later in the year now, and damn do I miss living in the mountains. Pictured: the daily commute through the wash to the canyon. As @mrmischief20 put it, "The wash giveth and the wash taketh away."What new mystery is this?"Ah wait, I think they sell pina coladas there."Places that seem like a dreamy haze.Toppin' out.@seanhible being a space boi last winter.Spent a month in El Salto, Nuevo León this winter. It was a cool experience. New blog post about it up on my website."To cherish what remains of the Earth and to foster its renewal is our only legitimate hope of survival."Walking with mi madre y hermana.
